The 2013 New Year Honour List of Queen Elisabeth II is a great one for nerds and geeks everywhere! Among the laureates are:
Professor Higgs, who predicted the boson which bears his name is now a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour and (and this is even more splendid):
Ian Livingstone, yes, Ian “Fighting Fantasy” Livingstone, has been named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire. Today being a geek and a nerd feels especially great!
And if you have never laid your hand on a Fighting Fantasy book, do it! They are by now also available for Kindle (and in print, of course). I suggest The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, arguably Sir Livingstone’s most popular piece of the series.
